ALINE JULIE

ALINE JULIE is a ceramic artist and designer based in Switzerland, holding a Swiss Federal Diploma in ceramic design from the School of Applied Arts in Bern (CH). She studied Fine Arts at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and Zurich University of the Arts. 

Moving between craft, design and art, her work investigates the space between these disciplines. Rooted in handbuilding, her practice explores clay as a sensitive, intuitive material where function and poetry meet. Its responsive and unpredictable nature invites a process guided by intuition as much as intention. Fingerprints, subtle irregularities and variations in surface become a record of the hand and the material itself.
Each object is made individually and carefully by hand in Switzerland. Some pieces are part of small series, others remain unique. Together they embody an exploration of intimacy, use and presence.
